Horizon EX57 Elliptical

Excellent piece of exercise equipment. Well satisfied!

I've been using the machine for nearly two weeks, and no matter how often I adjust the bolts I can't get a squeak-free workout going. Tonight it was so bad (and I can't figure out how to stop it) that I'm calling customer support to get a technician out.
Should we figure out the issue, I'd be happy to update my rating.

OK machine

Ive received my eliptical over two weeks ago and still have not been able to use it due to various defects. Super dissapointing especially since this was my first interent purchase in my life and I spent 500.00 dollars on something Ive yet to use. Granted so far they have sent parts and then I have to wait for a repair technician to have available time to put them on, I still would think If i buy something brand new for five hundred bucks I'd be able to use it with out waiting on what now is three weeks and counting!! Ugh..regretful :(

i love this elliptical - compared with ones at Gold's Gym and one i previously purchased that had to be returned. it is extremely comfortable and i can actually see/read the display screen. i had My 6th Man put it together and even they remarked that it was a good elliptical. the only problem i have is a squeak on the right side in/near the flywheel. i am going to wait to see if it goes away before calling about it. i highly recommend this wonderful piece of equipment. the size is also perfect - it doesn't need it's own room AND it has wheels for easy movement!

Overall, great machine. It is compact and works for both myself (5'2 and my husband 6'1). We workout 2-3 times per week for 20-25 minutes each time. Computer functions fine and times our workouts great. The levels definitely add more resistance and are challenging, if desired.

The only issues that we have had is a chirping squeak each time we cycle through one rotation. Seems to be the peddle squeaking. It is mildly annoying but customer service is sending us some new parts to try and resolve.

Great buy if you want to workout at home and enjoy the elliptical as your machine of choice.

The machine was easy to put together, it took me about 1 hour, when I started using it there was a squeaking noise coming from the left foot pedal, after further investigation, I found a faulty weld.
I called customer support and in about 5 days I had a new foot pedal, everything is fine now, it works really smooth and it is very quiet.
I am completely satisfied.

Everything was great! Came on time, easy to assemble, great quality product for a great price.. My only complaint is it's a bit squeaky, but I think that's my own fault because I meant to oil the parts as I put them together.. Overall, very very satisfied!!!

I have been exercising for over 10 years.
Only 3 months use and the welds for feet ripped out. I used my everyother day for about 60 minutes.
I'm 6' 1' and weigh 225 lbs.
(EX 57 Supposedely is built for 275lbs)
I'm frustrated with these cheaper models.

Not too bad to put together. Quiet most of the time. I have to grease it to keep it that way. Seems solid and should last years.

This is an awesome piece of equipment. I have begun using it every day and I feel like my day is not complete if I miss a day. I am only doing a 30 minute work out right now but the effects/benefits have been amazing. I would recommend this product to anyone. The quality of this equipment is very good and it was fairly easy to assemble and to operate once assembled.

When I received this machine the plastic pieces were cracked d/t harsh shipping. I was not pleased and just wanted to return it. The co. wanted to replace the piece and have a tech come to my house and install it. They wanted me to put the rest together to make sure there were no other broken pieces....so I did- only to find out that I had to have those broken pieces on to put it together. So i waited patiently for the new parts and called the tech when they came in. He never called my back and neither did the co. to find out if the piece was replaced....apparently they don't care about customer satisfaction! So I put new piece on and started using it. I'm only 130lbs. and the one side squeaks like crazy. I ususally just put earbuds in, but if I want to watch tv it is annoying! Other than that it is a nice machine for the money.

This product makes an irritating sqeaking sound. I tried to call for guidance on how to fix it, but it did not help. Otherwise the product is good quality and works well.

The machine is a bit harder than typical ellipticals found on the mayority of gyms and of course I paid for that. I have dissasembled it twice to quiet noises. The first time I did the main bolt that ties up the wheel was loose, no wonder. When putting it together the first time some screws on the handles were tough. For the price you paid I believe is a good product. Manufacturer should consider some modifications to lower noise over time.

Love it! Really get a workout!

I purchased this for my teenage daughter; although the rest of our family uses it as well. Overall, this elliptical has been used by two teenagers whom use this at least three to four times per week and love it. It gives them quite a workout and we have not had any issues with squeaking or banging as other reviews have had. The only pitfall to this machine is, if you are not physically fit, you may have difficulty as I do even on the lowest level. After using for only approximately 3-4 minutes I had muscle spasms in my legs and my knees were in pain. (I am approx. 30 lbs. overweight, so I'll be power walking until I can again try the eliptical.)
Would definitely recommend for anyone.

very good machine and good customer service

The machine is louder than It says it is. It also lost screws out of it within the first month or less. The screws that fell out are manufacture installed screws and washers that I found under the machine after using it! Not quite what I was expecting. Besides these things it does do what is made to do.

I use this elliptical for 45 minutes, 6 days a week and have never had a problem with it. It's rock solid and easy to set up with the proper resistance.

We have had this elliptical for 3 months now and love it! We use it every day and are very impressed. The machine performs well and gives a good workout. We had a friend put it together for us to make sure it was done correctly...it only took him about half an hour. My husband who is use to strenuous gym workouts and good equipment was skeptical about getting a decent machine for this price, but he has been very pleased with the quality of the EX57. Free delivery arrived within one week of ordering and they were very helpful in delivering the machine when we were home, calling ahead of time. Definitely recommend this item!

I had mine for almost five years before I had problems with the console not working, the fan dying and the squeeky workouts. But I worked that machine very hard over that time. For a first time buyer, I was very impressed with the value of this machine. If I had to do it over, I would not change a thing with this purchase. I would actually give this 3-1/2 stars but not 4.

Very good product. Make sure you oil the parts and you will not here any squeaking noise. You will not be disappointed.

I love using this elliptical! It is quiet and it is easy to use. It was easy to put together.

This is a nice machine but I only weigh 190 and this machine constantly squeaks because of the metal flexing on the pedals. Its not something that you can lube and it drives me insane and Horizon won't help me because I cant find the receipt.......The machine is brand new, not even a week old, so beware. Only way I can use it is to wear ear plugs........grrrrrrr

This elliptical is great for the price, easy to use and easy to assemble. I love it and my sister and I fight over who's going to use it all the time.

I bought the EX57 not sure what I was getting b/c I did it online without getting to use it first. I am glad I did b/c it is great! It is not overly heavy or cumbersome (I have a small space for it) and it went together very easily. It is also easy to move. I wish it had 1 more pre-programmed routine, but I can get around that with the manual options. It totally fits my needs.

-Horrible delivery, they dumped the box in my garage and left. Took two delivery appoint.'s to get it, had to miss 2 days of work.
-Even on the lowest setting still way harder than any gym machine, a bit defeating.

Compared with the jarring motion of jogging and the noise of my previous treadmill, I wish I had tried the elliptical a long time ago. This model is very quiet and I can actually hear the TV while working out. I can even wear my glasses without them flying off on the tread mill. I read the instruction manual cover to cover and found that simple maintenance is planned for years and years of use. I guess it remains to be seen if working out on these units burns as many calories as jogging. But I'm in the process of finding out.

I had to stop running several years ago due to knee problems. With this elliptical I can get the cardio workout I need without any stress on my knees. It's quiet and I can read or watch my favorite shows while training.

This is the first real piece of exercise equipment we have ever purchased, and we are very satisfied with it. We compared features and prices on several brands and models of ellipticals. We finally settled on this and we haven't regretted it. The product arrived on time and my wife and I were able to set it up in less than two hours with only the included tools. All components were clearly labeled and the directions were fairly straightforward.
The machine's control panel is intuitive an easy to use, and although there is no backlight you really don't need one unless you are in the habit of working out in a dark room. One improvement would be to give the control panel a rechargeable battery pack or make it operational on normal D or C cell batteries. Instead the machine has to be plugged into a wall outlet during every session.
In general, the operation is smooth and quiet as long as the elliptical is on a level surface. Beginners and those who are
out of shape may find the first level to be a bit difficult, although if they push through for a few days they will start to enjoy it. The stride length is perfect for both me and my wife. I am 5'9" and she is an inch shorter.
There have been some negative comments on the location of the water bottle holster, but we have found the location to be
convenient and easy to reach.
We have now owned this elliptical for almost a month. Overall, for the price and quality of this machine we are very satisfied and we wouldn't hesitate to purchase the same machine again.
