This bike is my first fitness equipment purchase so the only comparison I have is with bikes I have used at gyms. In that regard, this bike is excellent and of great quality. I know it'll last a long time the way it's built.
It was very easy to assemble. Some reviewers suggested you may need two people but I handled it on my own and I'm not the strongest guy on the planet. It must have taken me 30 minutes to put it together.
It's also fairly easy to move, assuming you're tall enough and strong enough.
The only cons are two-fold:
- The machine that comes with it seems inaccurate to me for some reason. But I don't really care as I tend to workout using a certain time vs calories.
- The seat is not super comfortable. It's very much similar to a road bike seat so it may hurt your rear-end, especially if it's bony like mine :)
But overall a great purchase, especially at this price.

I'm a big fan of spin biking and I have went threw a lot of them in the past 20 years. I purchased the Horizon M4 bike due to the 10 year frame warranty and I must say, for the price this bike is very nice! Very sturdy! It does the job! I'm basically rough on exercise equipment and this bike so far is holding up to the demands!!! If I had to complain about something it would be the cheap chain guard... I usually take them off anyways! So if you are looking for an inexpensive spin bike, trust me on this one, it's a keeper!!!! Just make sure you keep the maintenance on it, clean it, make sure all the bolts are tighten before riding it and it should make you very happy and fit!

This is a good bike but a little noisier than I'd hoped for.

I'm a solid 240/# rider. I played Hockey, Football and baseball when I was younger. I have had 5 knee operations over the last 20 years. I have lost my interest in going to the gym. I live in Michigan so riding my bike is difficult in the winter months. This bike has been great. Matched with either my iPod or the TV, I now get 3-4 rides a week in without fighting for a spot at the gym. Best part is it took me 15 minutes to assemble.

I wanted something I could keep in shape with during the winter months, since cycling outside in below freezing weather is really nasty. This product gives a great workout and simulates the bike geometry pretty well. The only real drawback is the monitor - the calories burned appears to be number-of-revolutions (cadence)-dependent and not sensitive to the level of resistance you apply to the wheel. So if you pedal slower at higher resistance, you appear to burn less calories than pedaling faster at lower resistance. The cycle is sturdy and the product is well constructed. I did a lot of research and I find it to be one of the highest quality products for the price.

Good bike very uncomfortable seat. Any suggestions?

I have participated in many spin classes at the gym. This bike is comparable to the gym style bikes. Smooth flywheel with ease of adjustment of seat and handlebar heights. The flywheel is very smooth with lowlevel noise when you are pedalling faster but not enough that I can't hear the music of my DVDs.

What is great about this bike is it gets my heart rate pumping! It truly is a good workout and the resistance knob works efficiently.
However, when resistance level is high, the left foot pedal makes a popping sound. Also, the speedometer included doesn't seem to count calories accurately. In 35 minutes of a semi intense ride, I only burned 52 calories. Maybe it is correct (and I'm just hoping it's not :) ) but I compare it to bikes used at the gym and I can usually burn 2x as many calories in the same time frame.

Assembly was easy. Flywheel is a bit noisy. The right pedal and crank make a popping noise after 10 minutes on the bike. The frame is sturdy. Good bike for what it is.

Assembly was easy, somewhat noisy flywheel, and the right pedal and crank make a popping noise after 10 minutes on the bike. Overall the frame is sturdy and good value for what it is.
